Hello!

I’m Iwona (call me Shorty), a Polish-American who has been surrounded by sports from as far back as I can remember.

Growing up, my family and friends were all involved in different sports, but it was volleyball that truly captured my heart.

My volleyball journey 

I began my journey with volleyball in the 4th grade and played tirelessly through my first year of college.

Standing at 5’2″, my height may have limited my dreams of becoming a professional volleyball player, but it never hindered my passion and love for the sport.

Throughout those years, my team and I may not have always clinched the championship, but we consistently gave our all, often coming in a close second.

This journey taught me resilience, determination, and the true meaning of sportsmanship.

Turning to Coaching

When my niece developed an interest in volleyball, I saw an opportunity to channel my passion and knowledge into coaching.

I volunteered as an assistant coach for her school team, and that’s when I realized that my volleyball journey wasn’t over; it was just taking a different path.

Volleyball as a Lifestyle

To me, volleyball is more than just a sport; it’s a lifestyle.

I spend my days watching professional games from around the world (thanks to my European TV subscription), reading, and writing about the sport I love.

Writing has become another passion of mine, and being able to write about volleyball gives me a sense of satisfaction and connection to the game.

Living the Game

Living in Florida, I still enjoy the thrill of the game, often playing beach volleyball.

Once a player, always a player – the love for the game never fades.

Now, with years of playing and a touch of coaching experience under my belt, I’ve decided to share my love and insights for volleyball through this website.

My goal is to provide tips, advice, and share my experiences with those who share the same enthusiasm for the sport.
